We Definitely Have a Diverse Song List

I just wanted to thank everyone for their song selections. We have generated a great list of songs for our "dance" Saturday night. I was trying to come up with some that are a little bit faster in tempo so that we aren't all slow dancing all night. We aren't THAT old yet.  So, while you might turn your noses up at Fastway's "Say You Will" right now, you will be thanking me that evening (ha)!  I can't wait to see everyone!!

dress code and (bad) memories

Ralph Brozzo again....you can't get rid of me that easily.

I agree that guidance on dress code Saturday night would be nice.

A memory of mine is Mr. Stiller in Jr. High and his ruler.  I also remember playing him once in class during charades - a pretty easy one for folks to guess (due to my great acting, I'm sure).

Speaking of Jr. High, I also have fond memories of a frog part - who knows which one - managing to be passed around at least three (if not more) dissection tables in Mr. Hudsons class so we all could get credit for finding it.

Ditto on the GREAT JOB!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the folks who organized this for the class  I believe you out did yourselves.  You put a lot of personal time and energy into pulling us all together again.  After 25 years, that is no easy task.  The numerous phone calls, the research, the contacting of so many people,  the tracking down of so many that were "lost", you all should be hired to be bounty hunters! The planning, the scheduling and not to mention the cost.  IT IS ALL greatly appreciated.  This should be a great time for all of us.  I am really looking forward to seeing everyone in September!

The things I remember in school was walking the halls, round and round we went!  Some played 4-square in the gym, some sat outside the office tripping others as they went by.  Some were in detention (bummer).  Some even took sips (BIG ONES!) of water and spit on others as they walked by.  I recall so many human fountains coming to life!  Not to mention the spit wades that fell from the sky from time to time.  Nasty ones too!  We really knew how to entertain ourselves didn't we?

Great job all!

Anxious to see everyone in September!

Sixth Grade memories

Hello Everyone:

This is Terri Collins Roberson.  I have been having a lot of fun reading the blog and thought I would share one of my memories.  It goes way back to sixth grade at Winegars.  I had Mrs. Hudson (at least I think that was her name) and we were in one of the portables.  Anyway...Mrs. Hudson would let us bring in our 45 rpms and play them on the record player during recess.  We would dance around the room and sing out loud.  I especially remember Locomotion and forming a chain around the room.  How is that for a "blast from the past"?  By the way...what is the dress code for Saturday night?  Formal, semi-casual, or is it anything goes?

music

Upon reviewing the requested song list - I must admit to having flashbacks....and not all flashbacks were pleasant!

See you soon

Great Job

Folks,

Just want to take a moment to thank the organizers.  I am astounded by the number of '81 beavers they have tracked down.  Not to mention the planning of the events.

As many of you know, I am back in mid-Michigan - moving back to Midland (for the third? time) in 1995.  After moving to Connecticut halfway through sophomore year (and with the fine memories of a 2-17 JV hoops season?), I stayed east for college in upstate New York.

After college, returned to Midland, then marriage and four years in southern California.

I look forward to hearing more from all of you at the events.

If you haven't received an invitation....

Just following up with everyone. The invitations have been out for a couple of weeks. A few were returned to us for one reason or another. But if you or a classmate you know never received an invitation, please let us know immediately. There are only a handful of people we could not find at all, but if you've been able to find this site and know about the reunion, you should have gotten your invitation (unless we totally butchered something). So please drop a note immediately or call Jan Nearing at 734-657-5122.

Otherwise, we hope to see you there and hope to get your RSVP just as soon as possible!

Working on '70s Matinee

For all of you who want to see a movie from our youth, we're working hard on making that happen!  Paula and Tammy are working with the owner of the Gem Theater to see if he would be interested in showing Grease during the afternoon of the 23rd.  Does anyone remember seeing it at the Gem when it first came out?  I remember one scene where there's a preview for The Blog.  Thinking that the projectionist made a mistake, I yelled, "Hey, where's the movie?!?!?"  The next scene showed Danny and Sandy watching the preview at a drive in.  I was just a little embarrassed by it!

Anyway, share your favorite Gem Theater memory here!  And buy your tickets for the dance today!

Time's ticking down!

Hey all!  We're all so excited about the reunion!  I've been getting in contact with so many old friends with whom I haven't spoken in many years, and we've been having a ball catching up and remember the old days.  It's going to be so much more fun seeing everyone in person!

And it will be here before you know it!  So don't delay - get your tickets today!  We only have a few people who have committed so far, and we want to be sure everyone has the chance to join the fun!  You can order online using PayPal, or mail your check directly to our trusty treasurer, Laurie Pickard Stroman.

Please let us know if you have any questions or if you have any challenges using PayPal.  We're here to help!  And we can't wait to see you in September!
