5th Grade Teacher - Mrs. Tolly.......remembered
Hi everyone! I usually don't start a blog, but this one is worth it.....
How many of you had Mrs. Tolly for a 5th grade teacher? I know I did, and she is also the mother of one of my husband's good friend, Kirk Tolly. Well, after many years of illness and approximately 6 months of a lot of pain, she passed away yesterday. I am sure she is much better where she's at, but it is obviously difficult on her family. So please keep them in your thoughts and prayers (if that's ethical to say on here :) ).
I just felt that I should let everyone know about it. And if we want to do some reminiscing about her, we can. All I remember of her is that she was very quiet, but she had complete control on all of us 'children' when we were that age.

I don't remember a whole lot about her. I had Mrs. Shearer in fifth grade and was so wrapped up in my life at Winegars that I couldn't even tell you any other fifth grade teachers... That is the year I met Lisa Crugher! Thanks Laurie, and I will definitely be thinking of her family.

I didn't know her at all because I moved to Beaverton at the beginning of our freshman year. I still feel bad for her family, and hope they're pain is minimal.

I remember Kirk Tolley but I don't re-call Mrs. Tolley very well, except that was a teacher. My sister may have had her? I will definitely keep her family in my prayers.

I remember Mrs. Tolly, even though I had Roy Johnston for 5th grade. I knew Kirk from being in the class above us, and from riding motorcycles.

I had Mrs. Citern in fifth grade. I do remember Mrs. Tolley as a nice quiet lady. I knew Kirk though, mostly through his being a friend of Mike's and the three of us camping up in Tawas.
Laurie, would you please pass along my condolences to Kirk? These things are still hard even though they may be a blessing. I lost both of my parents after long term illnesses, and it can be hard to be thankful for the passing of a loved one. Even when they are in a better place and no longer suffering, you still feel bad. So again, please pass along my best wishes to Kirk.
Thanks.

I will definitely pass along your condolences DeWayne. I have been in contact with Kirk's wife and she has stated that it will probably take Kirk a while to get over it. I know it can't be easy even though she was suffering. I am not sure how I would feel if it were someone close to me. Luckily I haven't had to deal with that yet.
I did have her as a teacher and she was kind of quiet but definitely had control over us. :) But very nice too.
And Troy, Kirk still races motorcyle. I haven't been to one of his races in a while, but I know he is still doing it.

I came to Beaverton in my 6th grade year; but me and my wife lost her Mother at the end of May so I know what the family is going through so my heart goes out to the family and as it has been said they are in a better place then we are.
