WOO-HOO!

French Quarter

Well, hopefully it's not too early for a woo-hoo, but it appears we've dodged that bullet.  We heard from a friend who's a New Orleans cop that our house has survived the storm.  The only problem is a branch is apparently laying in our yard.  No broken windows, no lost shingles, and no apparent flooding.  I can't wait to get back to see it for myself!

That will be a few days before we can do that, though.  Hundreds of thousands of households in the area, including ours, is without power.  No sense in going back without AIR CONDITIONING!  Yow.  You might as well crawl into the oven.  It would probably be cooler than hanging out in my house with no AC.

It turns out that Gustav is a stalker.  It's now coming though Memphis with winds and rain, but it's not that bad.  Much rather be here for Gustav than NOLA.  But I'm ready to go home.

Thanks so much for all the e-mail you sent with your concerns!  It's great to know there were so many people pulling for us.

Now we return to our regularly scheduled blogging...

Adam

I hope your friend is right and that the only thing wrong is the branch and no power! That will be very cool! No worse than a severe thunderstorm coming through my yard. (Hard to believe huh?) It looked pretty wicked on tv though.

You are right about Gusav being a stalker because it's coming through Michigan too....mostly rain (a lot of rain they are saying), not sure if there will be much more than that and some thunder and lightening.....

Have a safe trip back to your home when you go....
